New Delhi:

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police alleged on Monday that individuals linked to the Government of India are utilizing criminal elements, specifically the Bishnoi gang, to target the South Asian community in Canada, particularly those associated with the Khalistani movement.

Commissioner Mike Duhene and Deputy Commissioner Brigitte Gauvin stated that these “agents” of the Indian government are using organized crime to carry out their agenda. Ms. Gauvin mentioned that the Bishnoi gang, in particular, is believed to have connections to these government agents. The RCMP officials accused the Indian government of engaging in activities such as homicide, extortion, intimidation, and coercion within the South Asian community in Canada.

India has vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as “preposterous imputations.” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada reiterated the accusations against the Indian government, claiming that they are supporting criminal activities against Canadians on Canadian soil.

In response to the escalating diplomatic tensions, India and Canada have expelled diplomats from each other’s countries. The Bishnoi gang, led by Lawrence Bishnoi, has gained notoriety for its criminal activities, including murder, arms trafficking, and extortion.

Despite the ongoing conflict, both nations have yet to provide concrete evidence to support their claims. The situation has led to a deterioration in relations between India and Canada, with no resolution in sight.
