The Australian Open 2026 is set to kick off on Sunday, January 18th, and tennis fans are gearing up for an exciting fortnight of action at Melbourne Park. But before heading to the venue, spectators need to be aware of the rules and regulations regarding what they can and cannot bring with them.

When it comes to items allowed inside the venue, spectators are advised to carry a small bag that can fit under the arena seats. Only one bag per person is permitted, and it should not be left unattended. Water and non-alcoholic beverages in metal or plastic bottles are allowed, as well as packaged food and utensils. Medications, umbrellas, and selfie sticks are also permitted, but everything is subject to a security check upon entry.

On the other hand, certain items are prohibited inside the venue, including professional photography equipment like tripods and drones, glass items, offensive or promotional material, weapons, explosives, large bags, bicycles, chairs, rackets, musical instruments, and alcohol. Pets are not allowed, except for accredited assistance animals.

Visitors are reminded to take care of their belongings as the Australian Open organizers are not liable for any loss or damage unless it is due to their own negligence. Possession of prohibited items may result in refusal of entry or removal from the premises, with potential bar from future events.

It is important to note that these rules are subject to change at the discretion of the tournament organizers. With the guidelines clear, fans can now focus on enjoying the Australian Open 2026 to the fullest. So pack your essentials, follow the rules, and get ready for an unforgettable tennis experience at the Happy Slam.
