The season 4 premiere of “Abbott Elementary” has been a massive success, drawing in nearly 9 million total viewers within the first 35 days of its release on ABC, Hulu, and Disney+. This marks a significant increase of 321% from the 2.1 million viewers who tuned in on the night it originally aired. In addition to the surge in total viewership, the episode that aired on October 9th also saw a substantial rise in its rating among adults aged 18-49, reaching a 3.5 rating after 35 days compared to a mere 0.4 in Live + Same Day.

Comparing the season 4 premiere to the season 3 finale, which aired back in May, there has been an 11% increase in total viewers (9 million vs. 8 million) and a 21% boost in the 18-49 rating (3.5 vs. 2.9) when taking into account 35 days of viewership. This return of “Abbott Elementary” has proven to be the show’s best-performing episode since its post-Oscars installment on March 10th.

“Abbott Elementary,” created by and starring Quinta Brunson, revolves around a group of dedicated teachers navigating the challenges of working in an underfunded elementary school. The show features a talented ensemble cast including Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis. With 24 Emmy nominations and four wins under its belt, the series has garnered critical acclaim for its engaging storytelling and strong performances.

Fans can look forward to the return of “Abbott Elementary” on December 4th with a special one-hour holiday event featuring back-to-back episodes titled “Winter Show” and “Winter Break.” The evening kicks off at 8 p.m. as Barbara (played by Sheryl Lee Ralph) strives to pull off Abbott Elementary’s inaugural holiday show amidst various challenges. Meanwhile, Jacob’s (Chris Perfetti) brother unexpectedly arrives in town. Following at 8:30 p.m., Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) takes on the task of hosting the Schemmenti family Christmas Eve dinner with meticulous attention to detail, while Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory (Tyler James Williams) receive a surprise visitor.
