Australian DJ Havana Brown recently shared her unsettling experience at a notorious party hosted by music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, where she found herself in a situation that made her feel uncomfortable. In an interview on Hit WA’s show Allan & Carly, Brown revealed that “everyone knew” about Diddy’s alleged “freak off” parties, shedding light on the dark side of the music industry.
Brown disclosed that it was no secret in the industry that Diddy’s parties were infamous for their wild and sometimes disturbing nature. She expressed her unease with the situation, stating that she had heard about the parties prior to attending one and had felt apprehensive about being in such an environment.
The 54-year-old Diddy made headlines when he was arrested at a New York City hotel on September 16. Prosecutors alleged that Diddy had created a criminal enterprise where he manipulated, threatened, and coerced women to fulfill his sexual desires, using drugs, violence, and his status in the industry to control his victims. The indictment painted a disturbing picture of Diddy’s alleged actions, including luring women into extended sex acts known as “freak offs.”
Brown recounted her interactions with Diddy through her friend Pitbull, with whom she collaborated on the hit song “We Run The Night” in 2012. She described how Pitbull had introduced her to Diddy and taken her around Miami to various locations, including Diddy’s homes and those of his friends. However, Brown admitted that she had felt uncomfortable during her time in Diddy’s world, emphasizing that she was wise enough to avoid putting herself in compromising situations.
The DJ emphasized that the dance section of the music industry was a safe and positive environment for her, but she felt uneasy when she ventured into the hip hop scene. Brown expressed her concerns about the inherent risks in the industry, particularly in the hip hop world, where she had encountered unsettling situations.
Diddy was charged with serious offenses including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Despite his denial of bail and incarceration at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, the allegations against him have sparked conversations about the toxic culture within the music industry. Brown’s candid revelations about her experiences serve as a reminder of the importance of speaking out against abuse and misconduct in all industries.
