UL-Monroe: Louisiana Clinches 10-Win Season
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns capped off another successful season with a 30-16 victory over UL-Monroe in their regular-season finale. Despite missing starting quarterback Ben Woolridge due to a broken collarbone, backup Chandler Fields stepped up to lead Louisiana to victory and secure their tenth win of the season.
With the win, Louisiana improved to 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Ragin’ Cajuns have already clinched their division and will now prepare to face either Marshall or Georgia Southern in the SBC title game. In terms of passing stats, Louisiana’s Chandler Fields had a solid game, completing 17 out of 26 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. On the other side, ULM’s Aidan Armenta went 15 for 31 with 168 yards and one touchdown.
When it came to rushing and receiving, Zylan Perry led the way for Louisiana with 19 rushes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Bill Davis also contributed with 17 rushes for 78 yards and one touchdown. Lance LeGenre, Terrance Carter, Robert Williams, Harvey Broussard, Tavion Smith, and Jacob Bernard all made key receptions for Louisiana.
In terms of kicking, Kenneth Almendares went 4 for 5 on extra points and made a 26-yard field goal for Louisiana. On the ULM side, Max Larson was perfect on extra points (3 for 3) and made both of his field goal attempts, with a long of 47 yards.
