An incident of violence marred Thanksgiving celebrations for one family in Tennessee, as an intoxicated grandmother was arrested for allegedly stabbing her daughter and grandson with a kitchen knife during a heated argument. Lachunda Johnson, 55, of Memphis, reportedly engaged in the violent act following a confrontation with her daughter, who had scolded her for pushing her grandson.

According to reports from Memphis police, the altercation took place around 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, when Johnson, under the influence of alcohol, brandished a kitchen knife and attacked her daughter, inflicting a cut on her left hand. She then turned her aggression towards her grandson, leaving him with a stab wound near his thumb.

After the violent outburst, Johnson fled from the scene in the Westhaven neighborhood of Memphis. However, law enforcement officers were able to locate and apprehend her near Cazassa Road without any further incident. Subsequently, Johnson was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault, before being transferred to Jail East, a correctional facility located 16 miles outside Memphis.

Although the incident left the daughter and grandson injured, fortunately, three other children present in the household at the time remained unharmed. As of now, no bail has been set for Johnson’s release, pending further legal proceedings.

The shocking incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of alcohol-fueled conflicts within families, highlighting the importance of maintaining composure and seeking peaceful resolutions in times of disagreement. Thanksgiving, a day traditionally associated with gratitude and harmony, was marred by this unfortunate incident, underscoring the need for compassion and understanding in interpersonal relationships.
