Khalil Rountree Jr. is not just a talented UFC light heavyweight contender, but he also has a surprising skill as a hardcore vocalist. As he gears up to face Alex Pereira for the 205-pound title at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City, Utah, fans were delighted to uncover an old Instagram video of Rountree Jr. passionately performing a hardcore song in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

The video quickly caught the attention of fans who flooded the comments section with praise and excitement for Rountree Jr.’s unexpected musical talent. One fan even boldly predicted that Rountree Jr. would emerge victorious against Pereira based on his hardcore music taste, stating, “Yeahhh, ‘Poatan’ is going down. Nobody f*cks with hardcore!!!” Another fan expressed their support, exclaiming, “Oh, let’s gooooo!!! Your stock just went WAY up.”

The revelation of Rountree Jr.’s affinity for hardcore music is not entirely new. In 2021, he spoke about his love for the genre and how it allows him to connect with subcultures that defy societal norms. In an interview, he shared his experiences of attending hardcore shows and immersing himself in the mosh pit culture, describing the emotional release and acceptance he found in those spaces.

Rountree Jr. also recounted a memorable moment when he joined the band Terror on stage for an impromptu performance. Despite being a self-proclaimed quiet individual, he found solace and acceptance in the hardcore music scene, where he could freely express himself in ways he couldn’t elsewhere.

With his upcoming title fight and newfound recognition for his musical talents, Khalil Rountree Jr. continues to impress fans both inside and outside the Octagon. His unique blend of athleticism and artistic expression sets him apart as a multifaceted talent in the world of MMA. It will be exciting to see how his diverse interests influence his performance in the upcoming UFC event and beyond.
