Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s controversial defense secretary pick, was reportedly investigated for sexual misconduct allegations back in 2017. The Fox News host faced accusations of sexual assault following an incident that occurred in 2017, according to reports.

The alleged incident, which was investigated by the Monterey Police Department, took place at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel. The victim of the alleged assault reportedly suffered contusions to the right thigh. However, no criminal charges were filed, and the identity of the victim has not been disclosed.

Despite the allegations, Hegseth denied any wrongdoing, claiming that the encounter was consensual. Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, defended Hegseth, stating that no charges were filed and expressing support for his confirmation as Secretary of Defense.

Hegseth’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore, also refuted the allegations, citing the police department’s investigation that found no evidence to support the claims. However, critics and experts have expressed outrage over Hegseth’s nomination, with some questioning his qualifications for the role.

Paul Rieckhoff, founder of Independent Veterans of America, criticized Hegseth’s nomination, calling him the least qualified nominee for Secretary of Defense in American history. Rep. Jason Crow also urged the Senate to deny the nomination, arguing that Hegseth lacks the experience required for the position.

Hegseth, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan with degrees from Princeton and Harvard, married his third wife, Fox News producer Jennifer Rauchet, in 2019. The controversy surrounding his nomination has sparked debate and scrutiny on social media.

In conclusion, the allegations against Pete Hegseth have raised concerns about his suitability for the role of Secretary of Defense. While he maintains his innocence, the controversy surrounding the investigation has cast a shadow over his nomination. The Senate will have to carefully consider the evidence and opinions presented before making a decision on his confirmation.
