Tee Higgins, once hailed as the future WR2 for the Cincinnati Bengals, has faced a series of setbacks that have put his long-term future with the team in doubt. After a promising breakout season in 2021, Higgins suffered a hamstring injury at the start of the 2024 season, forcing him to miss the first two games. Now, a new quad injury has emerged, further complicating his status for Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens.

The quad injury was sustained during the Bengals’ Week 7 victory over the Cleveland Browns, where Higgins led the team in receiving yards with four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. As a result, he sat out the following two games and missed Monday’s practice session. Joining him on the sidelines were fellow wideout Charlie Jones (groin) and defensive tackle BJ Hill (rib). However, offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (knee) showed improvement by participating in limited practice, while defensive end Sam Hubbard (hamstring) was upgraded to a full participant.

Fantasy managers who have heavily invested in Higgins may be concerned about his injury history, but there is reason for optimism. Tight end Mike Gesicki has emerged as a reliable target in Higgins’ absence, posting impressive numbers and climbing the fantasy rankings. Additionally, Andrei Iosivas has surpassed Higgins in Sportskeeda’s Fantasy Football WR rankings, with Higgins currently unranked. With the emergence of receiving depth in the Bengals’ lineup, managers may feel more confident in moving on from the once-promising wideout.

In conclusion, Tee Higgins’ injury woes have raised questions about his long-term future with the Bengals. While his recent setbacks are cause for concern for fantasy managers, the emergence of other receiving options in the team’s lineup may ease the blow of his potential absence. As Higgins navigates through his latest injury setback, the Bengals will need to rely on their newfound depth to maintain their offensive prowess moving forward.
