The NFL is a league where parity reigns supreme, but stability is key to success. The top organizations in the league have strong ownership and a reliable front office that work together seamlessly to build winning teams. These front offices not only identify talent but also share a common vision for the organization and prioritize winning above all else.

A recent survey conducted by The Athletic polled 40 league insiders, including high-ranking executives and coaches, to compile the NFL Front Office Rankings. Stability was a common theme among the top-ranked teams, with many of them having general managers who have been in place for at least five years. The top teams also tended to promote from within, showing a commitment to continuity and a shared organizational culture.

The Baltimore Ravens topped the list, with owner Steve Bisciotti, general manager Eric DeCosta, and head coach John Harbaugh leading the way. DeCosta, who took over from the legendary Ozzie Newsome in 2019, has kept the Ravens competitive with shrewd moves in the draft and free agency. His ability to navigate Lamar Jackson’s contract extension and build a talented roster has earned praise from his peers.

The Kansas City Chiefs, led by owner Clark Hunt, general manager Brett Veach, and head coach Andy Reid, came in second. Veach’s role in drafting Patrick Mahomes and building a talented roster around him has been instrumental in the Chiefs’ success. The team’s aggressive approach to roster-building and stability at head coach have been key factors in their back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.

The San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Detroit Lions rounded out the top five, with each team’s front office earning praise for their ability to identify talent, build successful rosters, and maintain a shared vision for the organization. The Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams also received votes for their strong front offices and consistent success on the field.

Overall, the survey highlighted the importance of stability, continuity, and a shared vision in building successful NFL teams. The top-ranked front offices have proven their ability to navigate challenges, make tough decisions, and build winning teams year after year. As the league continues to evolve, these organizations will serve as models for others looking to achieve sustained success in a competitive and ever-changing landscape.
