Zarna Garg, an Indian-born comedian and screenwriter, is making waves in the comedy world with her upcoming stand-up special on Hulu. Produced by Rotten Science, the comedy hour will be featured as part of Hulu’s new stand-up initiative, Hularious. While a release date and title have yet to be announced, Garg is thrilled to be joining the Hulu family and bringing families together through laughter.
After escaping an arranged marriage and relocating to the United States, Garg spent 16 years as a stay-at-home mother before venturing into stand-up comedy at the encouragement of her children. Notably, she caught the attention of industry heavyweights Kevin Hart and Hillary Clinton.
Garg’s first comedy special, “One in a Billion,” was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, showcasing her unique perspective and sharp wit. In addition to her stand-up work, she made her acting debut in the SXSW film “A Nice Indian Boy” and hosts the “Zarna Garg Family Podcast,” where she delves into modern family life with her husband and kids. Furthermore, she has a sitcom titled “Zarna” in development at CBS, produced by Hart and Mindy Kaling.
Hularious, set to kick off on Nov. 22, will feature stand-up specials from a star-studded lineup including Bill Burr, Chris Distefano, Jim Gaffigan, Ilana Glazer, Jessica Kirson, Matteo Lane, Sebastian Maniscalco, Atsuko Okatsuka, Andrew Santino, and Roy Wood Jr. As part of the initiative, Hulu will also be licensing previously released comedy specials from renowned production companies such as 800 Pound Gorilla, Comedy Dynamics, and Don’t Tell Comedy.
