In a recent interview with Ten Count Media, former WWE star Mr. Kennedy addressed the long-standing rumors surrounding John Cena and Randy Orton’s alleged involvement in his release from the company back in 2009. While there have been speculations that Cena and Orton played a role in his departure, Kennedy took full responsibility for his firing.

Kennedy, who was considered one of the hottest acts in WWE during the mid-to-late 2000s, admitted that he was ultimately the one responsible for his exit from the promotion. Despite the rumors of backstage politics involving Cena and Orton, Kennedy chose not to dwell on the past and instead focused on moving forward in his career. He stated, “Even if those guys did some behind-the-scenes talking or whatever, I was in enough of a situation where Vince would listen to that. If that was, in fact, the case—if that was the straw that broke the camel’s back—I still didn’t do myself any favors while I was there.”

During his time in WWE from 2005 to 2009, Kennedy had several notable moments, with his biggest highlight coming at WrestleMania 23 in 2007. He emerged victorious in an Eight-Man Money In The Bank Ladder match, defeating the likes of CM Punk, Edge, and Randy Orton. However, Kennedy’s reign was short-lived as he lost the briefcase to Edge shortly after.

Following his release from WWE, Kennedy found success in TNA Wrestling, where he won the TNA World Heavyweight title twice during his six-year tenure with the promotion. Despite the ups and downs in his wrestling career, Kennedy remained focused on his future endeavors and continued to thrive in the industry.

Overall, Kennedy’s journey in the world of professional wrestling has been filled with highs and lows, but he remains resilient and determined to make a mark in the industry. His candid admission about his WWE release sheds light on the complexities of the wrestling business and the challenges that wrestlers face both in and out of the ring.
