Mark Burnett Appointed as Special Envoy to the United Kingdom by President Trump
President Donald Trump has made a significant announcement on his personal social media platform, Truth Social, appointing British producer Mark Burnett as the Special Envoy to the United Kingdom. Burnett, known for his successful career in television production, played a crucial role in launching Trump to international fame through the hit show “The Apprentice.”
Trump praised Burnett’s diplomatic skills and international recognition, stating that he brings a unique blend of talents to this important role. With a string of successful shows under his belt, including “Survivor,” “Shark Tank,” and “The Voice,” Burnett is well-equipped to enhance diplomatic relations between the U.S. and the U.K.
Burnett’s appointment comes at a time when he is transitioning between chapters, having recently exited MGM after Amazon’s acquisition of the studio. Despite facing pressure in the past to release outtakes from Trump’s time on “The Apprentice,” Burnett’s new role signifies a shift in dynamics as Trump enters his second term in office.
As a specialized envoy, Burnett will focus on specific transactions and negotiations related to trade, investment opportunities, and cultural exchanges between the two countries. This appointment complements the earlier selection of investment banker Warren Stephens as the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Burnett stated through a spokesperson, “I am truly honored to serve The United States of America and President Trump in this capacity.”
