Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has requested access to the “freak off” tapes, which are set to be used as evidence in Combs’ sex trafficking case. They argue that the recordings depict consensual sexual activities.
According to a filing obtained by JS, the legal team stated, “Contrary to what the government has led this Court and the public to believe, the so-called ‘Freak Offs’ were private sexual activity between fully consenting adults in a long-term relationship.”
Combs’ ex, Casandra Ventura, known as Cassie, alleged in a lawsuit that Combs would make her engage in sexual acts with male sex workers while he watched and directed her. The encounters were referred to as “freak offs.” Numerous other lawsuits followed after Cassie’s initial claim.
The “freak offs” were described as lasting for days, with participants allegedly being coerced into taking drugs to keep them compliant. Prosecutors possess nine videos of these encounters involving “Victim-1,” who requested privacy for the tapes.
Combs’ attorneys have viewed the footage and now request copies to prove his innocence. They argue that the videos do not depict sex parties, secret cameras, or violence.
The defense team seeks electronic copies of the videos for analysis and trial exhibits. They believe that the prosecution is sexist and puritanical in its approach.
Combs is currently in detention as he awaits his trial date. He denies all allegations against him.
