Apple Seeks to Attract Gamers to Vision Pro Mixed Reality Device
In a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is looking to enhance its Vision Pro mixed reality device to appeal more to gamers and game developers.
Initially marketed as a productivity and media consumption device, the Vision Pro’s focus on eye and hand controls rather than a traditional controller has limited its appeal to gamers.
With sales figures indicating that less than half a million units have been sold, Apple is now considering the potential of targeting gamers to broaden the device’s audience. According to Gurman, Apple has been in discussions with Sony regarding the integration of support for the PlayStation VR2’s hand controllers. Additionally, Apple is engaging with developers to gauge their interest in incorporating support for these controllers in their games.
By incorporating more precise control mechanisms, Apple aims to not only attract gamers but also enhance the usability of software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Photoshop on the Vision Pro.
