The White Ferns have ended their 10-game losing streak in the T20 Women’s World Cup by securing a victory against India in Dubai. Led by captain Sophie Devine, the team put together a competitive total of 160 runs with Devine herself top-scoring with an unbeaten 57.

Despite their recent struggles, Devine emphasized that the team has been consistently showing good intent in their gameplay. The win against India was a result of their hard work finally paying off on the big stage. Devine, named the MVP of the match, praised the team’s effort and resilience in the face of criticism.

Encouraging players to play to their strengths and back their skills, Devine highlighted the importance of maintaining belief in the batting order. The team’s morale remains high, with a supportive and caring environment among the players and support staff.

The White Ferns’ bowling unit also shone in the match, with Rosemary Mair and Leah Tahuhu delivering standout performances. Mair’s four wickets showcased her potential as a bowler, while Tahuhu’s three wickets demonstrated her resilience and determination.

Looking ahead, the White Ferns are set to face Australia in their next match. With the momentum from their victory against India, the team is determined to continue their strong performance in the tournament.
