Arshdeep Dalla, a Khalistani terrorist and associate of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, was apprehended by law enforcement in Canada following a shootout with unidentified assailants last month. Dalla sustained injuries to his right bicep from the exchange of gunfire and was subsequently taken into custody after illegal firearms were discovered in his car and residence.
On October 28, Arshdeep Gill and Gurjant Singh were targeted by unknown gunmen. Gill was wounded, prompting a police investigation that uncovered bullet damage on their Dodge Durango SUV and casings inside the vehicle, indicating that Gill and Singh had returned fire.
Dalla claimed that he was being pursued by another vehicle and that a stray bullet had struck his own vehicle, according to authorities.
The subsequent search of their residence led to the discovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine, a rifle, a shotgun, and high-capacity magazines in a gun safe. The individuals were arrested for various firearm-related offenses, including possession of prohibited firearms, tampering with serial numbers, and possession of ammunition without a license.
Indian security agencies have linked Dalla, 28, to numerous cases of extortion, murder, and terror-related activities, with cases filed against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. A Lookout Circular has been issued by Punjab Police for his arrest.
In a social media post, Dalla admitted to the murder of an electrician from Jagraon, Punjab, and his involvement in other criminal activities targeting followers of Dera Sacha Sauda.
He has also been implicated in a plot to abduct and kill another Dera Sacha Sauda follower, as well as using social media platforms to recruit and incite young men to participate in his illicit operations.
