Anissa Meksen, a multi-time Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion, recently disclosed that she has been training in mixed martial arts (MMA) for quite some time. During the ONE Friday Fights 92 virtual press conference, Meksen expressed her willingness to make her MMA debut if the right match offer comes along. The French-Algerian superstar mentioned that she has been training in MMA for four years and is excited about the prospect of transitioning to a new combat discipline.

Fortunately for Meksen, ONE Championship provides a platform for athletes to easily transition to other combat sports through its diverse divisions. Given her impressive striking pedigree, Meksen could potentially become a contender right away in MMA. The 36-year-old athlete has already competed in Muay Thai and kickboxing under the ONE banner, showcasing her versatility and skill set.

Before considering a move to MMA, Meksen has a crucial challenge ahead in a kickboxing showdown against Japanese star Kana Morimoto on December 20 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The bout is part of ONE Friday Fights 92: Sitthichai vs. Shadow, where Meksen aims to give Morimoto a tough welcome to ONE Championship. Despite facing setbacks in her previous world title bouts, Meksen is determined to prove her prowess in the women’s striking ranks.

The upcoming event will be broadcast live in Asian primetime in over 190 countries worldwide, offering fans the opportunity to witness high-level martial arts competition. Meksen’s fight against Morimoto is expected to be a thrilling encounter, showcasing the skills and determination of both athletes in the ring.

As Meksen prepares for her kickboxing battle, MMA fans can anticipate the potential debut of the talented striker in the world of mixed martial arts. With her experience and training in various combat disciplines, Meksen could be a formidable force in the MMA scene, bringing her unique style and expertise to a new audience.
