Edmond Brown, a 25-year-old man from Gresham, has been charged with a series of felonies for allegedly shoplifting over $14,000 worth of merchandise from Ulta and Target stores in Chicago. The charges include operating a continuing financial crime enterprise, robbery, and multiple counts of felony retail theft. Brown is already facing two other felony retail theft cases.

According to prosecutors, Brown is accused of shoplifting from Ulta and Target locations between January and October of this year. The alleged incidents involve stealing hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars worth of merchandise each time. Some of the specific accusations against Brown include stealing fragrances worth thousands of dollars from Ulta stores and various merchandise from Target locations across the city.

In one particularly disturbing incident at a West Loop Target store on October 3, Brown allegedly stole $345 worth of goods and physically assaulted a female employee by repeatedly striking her in the face with his elbow. In other cases, Brown is accused of stealing fragrances from Walgreens and Ulta stores in Lyons and River Forest.

Currently, Brown is on electronic monitoring while awaiting trial for these charges. The original reporting on this case was brought to you by CWBChicago, a local news outlet dedicated to providing accurate and detailed public safety reporting. Overall, the allegations against Edmond Brown paint a troubling picture of repeated theft and violence in retail stores across Chicago. It serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing and preventing such criminal behavior in our communities.
