Studying how to make batteries last longer

A groundbreaking discovery in the charging process of lithium-ion batteries has the potential to increase their total lifespan by an impressive 50 per cent on average. This breakthrough, which requires a simple adjustment in the battery manufacturing process, can be readily implemented by battery manufacturers worldwide. William Chueh, a researcher at Stanford University in California, highlights the significance of this innovation by stating, “The cool thing is that we didn’t change any chemistry of the battery.
