Amy Slaton Halterman, a familiar face from the reality TV show “1,000-Lb. Sisters,” made headlines recently after being arrested at a Tennessee zoo on charges of drug possession and child endangerment. The incident took place at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, where deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department were called in response to a camel bite incident involving a guest.

Upon arrival at the scene, the deputies detected suspicious odors emanating from the guest’s vehicle, leading to the arrest of Amy Slaton Halterman and Brian Scott Lovvorn. Both individuals were charged with illegal possession of schedule I and schedule VI drugs, as well as two counts of child endangerment. The exact nature of the drugs found in their possession has not been disclosed by the authorities.

Following their arrest, Amy Slaton Halterman and Brian Scott Lovvorn were taken to the Crockett County Jail to face the charges brought against them. Further details regarding the incident have not been released to the public at this time.

This is not the first time Amy Slaton Halterman has been in the spotlight. She gained fame through her appearances on “1,000-Lb. Sisters,” where she documented her weight loss journey. Initially weighing over 400 pounds during the show’s first season in January 2020, she underwent gastric bypass surgery and successfully shed 136 pounds, bringing her weight down to 275 pounds.

In addition to her television endeavors, Amy Slaton Halterman has faced personal challenges, including a public divorce from her estranged husband, Michael Halterman. The couple, who eloped in 2017 and had a formal wedding in 2019, parted ways in a contentious split last year. Their separation was marked by legal proceedings, with Michael Halterman requesting a civil restraining order to keep both parties at a distance from each other.
