As the anticipation builds for her next performance, Dua Lipa and fashion designer Lorenzo Posocco have curated a stunning ensemble inspired by the glamour and energy of burlesque. This time, they opted for a striking red embroidered Valentino catsuit, previously showcased in both white and black hues during past performances.

Dua reflects on her evolution in fashion, stating, “I love that this show showcases all facets of my personality.” Looking back at her earlier tours, she reminisces about her go-to outfits which included suit jackets, bras, loose-fitting trousers, and sneakers. “This tour truly takes me down memory lane,” she adds nostalgically.

The Dynamic Club Segment

Transitioning into the club-themed segment of her show, Dua donned two figure-hugging creations by Attico while performing her hit “Physical.” However, for her UK stadium tour, the fashion narrative shifted to a leather ensemble from Courrèges, ultimately culminating in a breathtaking black and gold studded Chanel bodysuit. This show-stopper is accentuated with hip-hugging chains, drawing inspiration from a legendary Christy Turlington look from Chanel’s spring 1992 haute couture runway. Surprisingly, this intricate bodysuit weighs around seven kilos, or 15 pounds. Dua quips, “I’ll do anything for fashion. Nothing shines brighter than that Chanel.”

Pushing Boundaries with Style

Next in her repertoire is a vibrant candy pink Balenciaga outfit accompanied by a statement faux fur coat that has made appearances in various colors, including white, red, and electric blue. For her UK performances, a striking Union Jack lining adds a patriotic flair. “I’m trying to do my moves, and it’s so heavy… I’m like, fuck it, it doesn’t matter!” Lipa declares passionately. “It’s too much fun not to suffer a bit for it!”

“It’s given me really strong arms,” she jokes about the weight of her costumes. “Most of these outfits have turned into an unexpected workout.”

The Showstopper Corset

The grand finale of her fashionable showcase is an exquisite Schiaparelli corset embellished with mirror detailing and ribcage accents, drawing upon elements from both the designer’s archives and Dua’s memorable Golden Globes gown. “Every time I wear it, I feel so fortunate,” she shares. “It’s an incredible couture piece for the show, and I can even do cartwheels in it!”

Dua and her team have perfected their method for managing such ornate outfits under the spotlight. “I’m completely naked when I’m doing my quick changes,” she admits. “It’s a choreographed dance!”

Design collaborator Posocco humorously adds, “I’m glad that isn’t my job! I have the vision, but that’s about it.”

To complement her stunning outfits, hair and makeup are meticulously planned. “The hair is blown out, voluminous, and has that sexy vibe. The sweatier I get, the better it works!” she explains. Artist Katie Jane Hughes’ makeup, characterized by a disco-inspired aesthetic, consistently features a shimmering lip.

The dancers on stage play an essential role, their outfits coordinated in both color and style to create a cohesive visual experience. “We want everyone to feel confident, so every detail gets adjusted until each person feels empowered… that confidence makes performing effortless,” Dua emphasizes.
