Tragic Shooting Claims Life of 19-Year-Old in Forest Hills, Queens

In a shocking turn of events, a 19-year-old man was fatally shot in what is typically a peaceful neighborhood in Queens, New York, on Sunday evening, as reported by law enforcement officials.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to a 911 call regarding a male who was shot at the intersection of 64th Road and Grand Central Parkway in Forest Hills at approximately 7:40 PM.

Upon their arrival, authorities discovered Jean Rios, 19, lying unresponsive and unconscious with a devastating gunshot wound to his chest.

Rios was quickly transported to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

In the aftermath of the incident, observers noted the presence of Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz at the scene, as blue and yellow caution tape was used to cordon off the area for investigation.
