Two Men Arrested for Robbing Passengers on Red Line Train at 87th Street
Two men have been arrested and charged with robbery after allegedly targeting passengers aboard a Red Line train at 87th Street. The suspects, identified as Kevin Stoner, 30, and Kenyon Guillory, 20, were apprehended following a report from two victims, ages 25 and 27, who reported the incident to patrolling officers.
According to a Chicago police report, the victims claimed that they were robbed by Stoner and Guillory before the assailants fled to a nearby gas station. The officers accompanied the victims to the BP station, where both victims positively identified Stoner and Guillory as the individuals responsible for the robbery.
Prosecutors revealed during a detention hearing that Stoner had forcibly taken items from the older victim’s pockets and handbag, including a debit card, baseball hat, and bottle of tequila, while Guillory threatened the victim with a knife. The victim’s bag strap was also cut with a knife during the altercation. Additionally, Stoner reportedly struck the younger victim in the head with a glass bottle, while Guillory stole $30 and a bottle of liquor from the victim’s pockets.
Following the hearing, Judge John Hock ordered Stoner and Guillory to be detained, citing concerns for public safety.
