Early Monday, authorities in Las Vegas reported that two individuals were fatally shot on the iconic Las Vegas Strip near the Bellagio fountains. The incident, described as an “isolated incident” involving acquaintances, unfolded late Sunday night.
Las Vegas police announced that the alleged shooter, identified as Manuel Ruiz, age 41, turned himself in at a police station in Henderson. He is expected to face two counts of murder with a deadly weapon.
As of Monday morning, there was no information available on the case or legal representation for Ruiz. It remains unclear if he has been assigned a public defender by the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.
During a press briefing, Undersheriff Andrew Walsh disclosed that the suspect and victims had a history of social media disputes.
Law enforcement officers responded to the sound of gunshots and discovered two individuals deceased on the sidewalk. The victims have not been publicly identified yet.
