Stocks are currently at an all-time high, despite concerns about AI and the economy. Micron, a memory chipmaker, recently reported strong earnings, causing its stock to become even more undervalued. On the other hand, Dollar General is rebounding after a challenging period.

As we approach the end of 2025, the stock market appears to be at a critical juncture. The S&P 500 is near its peak, but there is growing speculation about a potential pullback following three years of continuous growth. The talk of an AI bubble has intensified, triggering a sell-off in November, while economic indicators are showing signs of weakness. Consumer sentiment has declined, impacting retailers, and the labor market is struggling with high unemployment rates.

Micron’s recent earnings report showcased impressive performance, with revenue surging by 57% to $13.6 billion. The company’s cloud memory division, which is heavily involved in AI, grew by 100% to $5.3 billion. Micron’s high-bandwidth memory chips are in high demand, contributing to its optimistic forecast for future growth. The company’s margins have also expanded, with operating margin increasing from 25% to 45%.

Despite reaching an all-time high, Micron remains undervalued based on its current earnings per share and forward earnings estimates. This suggests that there is still room for the stock to appreciate further.

On the other hand, Dollar General has shown signs of improvement, with same-store sales growing by 2.5% in its latest earnings report. The company’s strategic initiatives, such as reducing out-of-stocks and improving checkout processes, have led to a significant increase in gross margin. As a countercyclical business, Dollar General tends to perform well during economic downturns, making it an attractive investment option.

With a solid growth trajectory and favorable market conditions, both Micron and Dollar General are positioned as potential winners in 2026. Investors should consider these stocks for their portfolios as they offer growth potential and value in a challenging market environment.
