Cailee Spaeny delivers a standout performance in the second season of Netflix’s anthology “Beef,” potentially earning the 27-year-old her first major Emmy nomination. The possibility of Oscar winner Yuh-Jung Youn being alongside her remains a topic of discussion for the remainder of the season.
The main contention is with “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bissette,” featuring Grace Gummer, Naomi Watts, and Constance Zimmer. It’s uncertain if all three can secure nominations, as history suggests the likelihood is slim. Nevertheless, the FX limited series is a high-profile period piece that could potentially receive multiple nominations in this competitive category.
Laurie Metcalf may become a double nominee with her comedy role in “Big Mistakes” and seems a strong contender for Ryan Murphy’s “Monster: The Ed Gein Story.” Vicky Krieps also receives attention for her role in the same series, with Murphy’s productions often dominating acting categories.
