As the November midterm elections approach, vaccine policy has emerged as a significant topic, fueled by a president and health secretary who are skeptical of vaccines. Several Republican candidates have aligned themselves with health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, which emphasizes medical freedom and opposes vaccine mandates. On the other hand, some more liberal candidates have positioned themselves as ready to challenge Kennedy.
“I can’t wait to sit across from RFK Jr. and actually grill him,” Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed stated on CNN in August after securing his party’s nomination.
