Three Men Arrested for Stealing Thousands from Chicago Businesses

CHICAGO — Three men, including two on parole, have been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars by breaking into video gaming and lottery machines at Chicago businesses.

Authorities began investigating after linking a series of crimes to a vehicle registered to Samier Marogail, 34. Surveillance was set up at Marogail’s residence in Logan Square, leading to the discovery of another break-in at a Shell station on North Sheridan.

Three individuals reportedly played video games at the station, winning approximately $4,000. After finishing their games, they used crowbars to break into the machines and steal the cash inside.

Marogail, along with 35-year-old Yong Suk Lee and 34-year-old Timothy Blaze, were apprehended when they returned to Marogail’s home on North Milwaukee.

Marogail and Lee are also accused of burglarizing a gaming redemption machine at a Shell station on West Belmont, stealing $5,681 on October 19. They are additionally facing charges for stealing $1,800 from a video gaming machine at Belford Tavern on North Pulaski.

Marogail faces additional charges for burglaries at a minimart on West Fullerton and the same Shell station on West Belmont on different dates. Both Marogail and Lee are being held in custody by the Illinois Department of Corrections pending a review of their parole status.

Blaze has been released to await trial by Judge Caroline Glennon-Goodman.
