2. Recycled Crafts
For those rainy summer days or times when it’s too hot to be outside, consider engaging in some recycled crafts with your kids. One fun and creative idea is to make a Recycled Bottle Fairy House.
Recycled Bottle Fairy House
What you’ll need:
- Plastic bottles (two bottles per fairy house)
- Multi-surface craft paint
- Craft knife and/or scissors
- Natural decorations (leaves, moss, pinecones, flowers, rocks)
First, cut off the top of a water bottle to create the top of the fairy house. Then, cut an oval hole in the side of another bottle to serve as the fairy’s entrance. Paint the bottles and decorate the fairy house with natural materials or items from your recycling bin.

Fresh Fruit on a Stick
One of the easiest and most fun summer snacks is to cut up watermelon and put them on wooden popsicle sticks.

3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mash bananas, mix in peanut butter and oatmeal, then drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes for a healthy and delicious snack option.
