The recent arrest of Micah James Legnon, a transgender Marine veteran, has shed light on an alleged New Year’s Eve bombing plot orchestrated by a far-left terrorist group known as Turtle Island Liberation Front. Legnon, who went by the aliases “Kateri TheWitch” and “DarkWitch She/Her” in online chat groups, was apprehended in Louisiana after being linked to discussions about planting pipe bombs on businesses and targeting ICE agents.

According to a criminal complaint unsealed on Tuesday, Legnon expressed a desire to “recreate Waco” on ICE agents, referencing the 1993 massacre involving David Koresh’s Davidians. The suspect had shared images of assault rifles and body armor, and federal agents discovered sniper training manuals, SWAT training manuals, assault rifles, and ammunition during a raid on Legnon’s residence in New Iberia.

Furthermore, Legnon’s social media activity included a post on Facebook where Border Patrol agents were referred to as “masked f–ks,” along with a statement suggesting a plan to carry out an attack in New Orleans alongside others targeting southern California. The FBI interpreted this as a potential threat to law enforcement officials.

The complaint also revealed that Legnon, who now uses she/her pronouns, had prior military training with combat experience as a Marine. Additionally, sources confirmed that Legnon was a former police officer and identified as a member of the extremist group known as “trantifa.”

Alongside Legnon, four other individuals – Audrey Carroll, Zachary Page, Dante Garfield, and Tina Lai – were arrested in Los Angeles as part of the same investigation. The group, allegedly part of a TILF splinter group called “Order of the Black Lotus,” had been testing homemade explosives in the Mojave Desert. The New Year’s Eve plot, dubbed “Operation Midnight Sun,” involved planting backpacks filled with bombs at two companies in Los Angeles.

The Turtle Island Liberation Front, a relatively unknown extremist organization, advocates for revolutionary change and opposes law enforcement, government, and liberalism. The group’s agenda includes anti-American sentiments and support for Palestine, as evidenced by the discovery of signs declaring “Death to America,” “Death to ICE,” and “Long live Turtle Island and Palestine” during the investigation.

As investigations continue and arrests are made, the authorities are working to dismantle the network of individuals involved in the alleged bombing plot. The case highlights the ongoing threat posed by domestic extremists and the importance of vigilance in preventing acts of terrorism on American soil.
