This bipedal herbivore sported two fingers on each hand, each armed with massive claws up to 30 centimetres long. Despite its vegetarian diet, Duonychus tsogtbaatari’s formidable claws were a force to be reckoned with.
Shri rapax, a Velociraptor-like dinosaur found in the Gobi desert, was a fierce predator with hands and claws that inspired its name, meaning “rapacious.” At 2 metres in length, this dinosaur may have been one of the most dangerous hunters of its time, prowling the ancient sand dunes and lakes between 75 and 71 million years ago.
Baminornis zhenghensis, a 150-million-year-old fossil from China, puzzled researchers with its bird-like characteristics. This quail-sized creature is believed to be one of the earliest known birds, showcasing the evolution of short tails in modern avian species.
