A lucky man from Colorado is celebrating this week after winning a whopping $3 million in the Colorado Lotto+ jackpot on Saturday.
The winning ticket, worth $3,099,213, was purchased by 83-year-old Jerold C. at Winner’s Corner, a board game and lottery shop located at 310 North Main Street in Pueblo.
According to lottery officials, the cash value of the jackpot is just over $1.5 million. The odds of winning this jackpot were one in 3.84 million.
Remarkably, Jerold is the third person in the country, and the first in Colorado, to win at least $1 million playing the lottery on the Jackpocket app in the last 10 days.
Only 54 lottery players have ever won $1 million or more on various lotteries through the Jackpocket app, as stated in a news release by app officials.
Before Jerold’s big win on Oct. 5, the last Colorado Lotto+ winners took home their multi-million dollar jackpots in August. A $1.5 million winning ticket was sold at a 7-11 in Carbondale, a $5.7 million winning ticket at Sundance Drug and Liquor in Aspen, and a $1.1 million ticket at a King Soopers in Thornton, according to lottery records.
