Tragic Incident: Father Leaves Daughter in Hot Car While Playing Video Games
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Christopher Scholtes left his car running with the air conditioning on while he played video games and browsed adult websites. Unfortunately, he lost track of time, causing the car to shut off and trapping his daughter, Parker, in scorching heat.
Parker remained trapped in her car seat until her mother, Erika, returned home from her shift at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson hours later. Upon discovering her lifeless child, Erika, an Anesthesiologist, immediately sprang into action and started performing CPR while Scholtes frantically dialed 911.
During the distressing call to 911, Scholtes could be heard crying out, “My baby was in the car. She’s non-responsive,” as he repeatedly exclaimed, “Oh my god, oh my god,” and pleaded for help. Erika continued her efforts to revive Parker as Scholtes desperately sought assistance from emergency services.
The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles, especially during hot weather. It is essential for parents and caregivers to remain vigilant and prioritize the safety and well-being of their loved ones at all times.
