Lana Del Rey and her husband Jeremy Dufrene are marking one year of matrimonial bliss by unveiling previously unseen moments from their wedding.
The melancholic melody-maker, 40, alongside the adventurous alligator tour guide, 50, both took to Instagram on Friday, September 26, to reflect on the passing year since exchanging vows.
Del Rey posted a series of images, showcasing the couple clad in wedding attire, stealing kisses on an airboat – perhaps the most unconventional romantic backdrop imaginable. Their nuptials took place amidst the charm of the Louisiana bayou, where Dufrene operates his alligator swamp tours.
One charming snapshot featured their guests, including notable figures like Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley, celebrating enthusiastically at what appeared to be a festive reception.
Another visual treat highlighted a perfume bottle engraved with the phrase “Love on the bayou,” accompanied by the couple’s wedding date, perfectly complemented by glimpses of their elegantly crafted wedding cake.
Moreover, Del Rey shared a heartwarming clip through her Instagram Story that portrayed her walking down the aisle as a bride, a moment surely etched in time.
While Del Rey did not add any captions to her carousel of memories, Dufrene took the opportunity to express his affections through his own post, featuring similar images. He wished, “Just want to wish my precious bride a Happy 1st year Anniversary. A lifetime of love and happy tears to go ❤️.”
The couple’s wedding was a quaint affair in Des Allemands, Louisiana, on September 26, 2024. Her father, Robert Grant, escorted her down the aisle, while family members such as her mother, Patricia Ann Hill, sister Caroline Grant, and brother Charlie Hill-Grant were present to celebrate the occasion, according to snapshots obtained by DailyMail.com.
The duo first surfaced on the public radar in May 2024, following an Instagram post where Del Rey affectionately tagged Dufrene, referring to him as “my guy.” Rumors surrounding their romance picked up momentum when they were spotted hand-in-hand at the Leeds Festival in the U.K. in August, during one of Del Rey’s performances.
Interestingly, hints about their connection date back to 2019, when Del Rey shared a photo from one of Dufrene’s wildlife tours on Facebook.
Despite being fairly reserved about her relationship with Dufrene, Del Rey has previously opened up about her views on love and relationships in earlier interviews.
In a July 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Del Rey – who has an illustrious dating history including names like Barrie-James O’Neill, Francesco Carrozzini, G-Eazy, Sean Larkin and Clayton Johnson – confessed to thriving in high-intensity relationships. “It’s been beautiful, but it’s been confusing because when that’s your prerogative, things don’t end in a traditional way,” she elucidated. “You don’t have that typical relationship where you go out with couples or engage in ordinary activities; it’s more of an extension of the creative process.”
She went on to emphasize her desire for an equal partner, unabashedly expressing her preference for individuals who are self-assured regardless of their age. “I sort of have an affinity for really good, strong, self-assured people,” she remarked, highlighting the unique dynamics of her relationships.
