George Kay’s New Netflix Crime Series: “The Case”

The creator of the hit series Lupin, George Kay, is embarking on yet another thrilling project for Netflix titled “The Case,” a captivating Swedish crime series.

Plot Overview

Created and written by Kay, “The Case” features Swedish actors Jakob Oftebro and Peter Andersson in pivotal roles as lead investigator Thomas Berg and his estranged father, Alfred, a former detective. The five-episode series is helmed by director Kristoffer Nyholm.

The synopsis of the show sets a gripping tone: “As the endless summer enshrouds Stockholm, an ominous shadow looms. Thomas Berg, a highly esteemed lead investigator, finds himself in the midst of a serial killer’s rampage, targeting his fellow police officers. In a desperate bid to protect his colleagues, he reaches out to his estranged father, Alfred, an ex-detective who has fallen from grace. Together, they must reconcile their differences to confront one of Sweden’s most notorious killers.”

Cast and Production

Joining Oftebro and Andersson are a talented ensemble cast, including Electra Hallman, Alexander Abdallah, Henrik Norlén, Lisette T. Pagler, Magnus Krepper, Irina Björklund, Anders Mossling, and Anna Maria Käll. “The Case” is produced by B-Reel Films and Observatory Pictures in collaboration with New Pictures. Filming recently concluded in the heart of Stockholm, and the series aims for a global release on Netflix next year.
