“KPop Demon Hunters” has shattered viewership records yet again.
Following its achievement as Netflix’s most-watched movie in history in late August, this musical fantasy film has now enjoyed its 15th consecutive week in the Netflix Top 10, establishing a new record for the longest-running title on the English-language films chart. The previous record was held by “Red Notice,” which had a total of 14 weeks on the chart. “KPop Demon Hunters” managed to achieve this milestone with 15 consecutive weeks, outperforming the original run of “Red Notice” which included a total of 12 uninterrupted weeks before making additional appearances later. Impressively, “KPop Demon Hunters” held the No. 1 position for eight out of its 15 weeks and secured the No. 2 slot for the remaining seven weeks. Notably, it hasn’t dropped below No. 2 so far, indicating a strong likelihood of continuing its reign in the Top 10, especially considering it garnered an impressive 19.3 million views in its 15th week—almost double the second-place title, “Ruth & Boaz,” which had a debut view count of 10.3 million.
Meanwhile, on the English-language TV chart, “Wayward” debuted as the top title, racking up 8.2 million views within its first four days of streaming. Close behind was “Black Rabbit,” which managed to attract 7 million views in its second week, and “House of Guinness,” which launched with 5.2 million views in just four days.
At No. 4, “Wednesday” Season 2 garnered 4.4 million views, marking its eighth overall week on the chart and its fourth since the release of Part 2. To date, the season has reached a total of 107 million views, placing it at No. 7 on Netflix’s all-time list for English-language TV, based on total views accumulated in the first 91 days of streaming. Although the season premiered on August 6, Netflix reset its viewership clock upon the release of Part 2 on September 3, meaning there is still ample opportunity for it to climb closer to “Wednesday” Season 1, which remains the pinnacle of popular English-language Netflix shows with 252.1 million views.
