Season 27 of “Big Brother” wrapped up its exciting journey on Sunday night, attracting an impressive average viewership of 4.3 million on CBS during the two-hour live finale.

This remarkable figure is the highest the reality competition series has seen in over three years, eclipsing the viewership of its Season 24 finale, which garnered 4.5 million viewers on September 18, 2022, as reported by Nielsen’s Live + Same Day data. Notably, this marks a 33% increase compared to the Season 26 finale, which drew in 3.2 million viewers.

Throughout its run, Season 27 has demonstrated a robust performance. As of September 25, it amassed a staggering 8.4 billion streaming minutes, showcasing a 27% growth from the previous season. Additionally, episodes of this season averaged 5.1 million viewers within 35 days of release, indicating a 23% increase from the prior season’s Live + 35 Day average. In terms of Live + Same Day viewership, Season 27 averaged 3.2 million viewers per episode, with the finale standing out at a remarkable 33% above the season average.

Under the engaging stewardship of host Julie Chen Moonves, “Big Brother” follows a diverse group of contestants living together under constant surveillance by 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones. Each week, the houseguests must collectively vote to evict one member of their group, culminating in a single finalist who walks away with the grand prize of $750,000. This season’s winner, crowned during the finale, is 25-year-old Chicago attorney Ashley Hollis.

“Big Brother” was the brainchild of John de Mol and is produced by Fly On The Wall Entertainment in collaboration with Banijay Americas, with Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan as executive producers.
