A best man attending a wedding in Minnesota was arrested after he allegedly shot a guest during a tumultuous confrontation at the event, law enforcement reported.
Stephan James, aged 34, reportedly fired shots at a 36-year-old attendee, hitting him in both legs during the altercation on Saturday night as a crowd of over 100 celebrated at Keller Regional Park in Maplewood, roughly 8 miles east of Saint Paul. This information was confirmed by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.
The injured individual was promptly transported to Regions Hospital and is anticipated to recover.
The circumstances leading to the confrontation remain unclear.
After fleeing the event, James was apprehended on Wednesday night when authorities discovered him in the passenger seat of a white Chevrolet pickup parked in a nearby neighborhood.
Law enforcement stated they surrounded the vehicle, removed James, and took him into custody.
Authorities also found two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen, inside the truck.
James is currently in custody at Ramsey County jail, pending formal charges.
