Rising star Addison Rae might be belting out lyrics about her stylish ripped blue jeans, but she’s been donning pieces from fashion history. Recently, she became one of the first individuals to wear Dario Vitale’s highly-anticipated and popular Versace collection for spring 2026—unveiled on the runway just two days prior. Last night, she made her live television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a strikingly different ensemble: a 70-year-old gown originally crafted for the burlesque legend Gypsy Rose Lee.
“The sparkle and glamour felt perfect for Rockefeller Center,” notes stylist and fashion editor Dara, who has been collaborating with Rae for over a year. “This location is steeped in history and cultural significance, with fewer venues of its kind remaining. When Addison and I team up, it’s a blend of homage and playful irreverence. We enjoy drawing inspiration from past glamour but ensuring she makes it her own.”
The vintage dress was procured from a popular Los Angeles thrift boutique named The Way We Wore. Doris Raymond, the founder of the store, shared, “I purchased the dress roughly 35 years ago from Doyle Auctions. It weighs 16 pounds and features a corset-style top, bias-cut fringe, and is adorned with gold sequins, rhinestones, and bugle beads. It remained with me, a sleeping treasure, until Dara reached out looking for a gold beaded gown for her client. When Addison stepped out of the fitting room in it, it felt as though it was tailored just for her.”
