Chicago police are seeking assistance from the public to identify three individuals involved in an alleged mugging of a passenger on a CTA train in the Loop that occurred late last month.

In a community alert released on Saturday morning, authorities disclosed surveillance images of the suspects. The incident took place around 10:49 p.m. on Friday, September 26, while the train was approaching State and Lake Streets.

While specific details of the event are limited, police confirmed that the individuals targeted a passenger aboard the train before making their escape.

The investigation is currently assigned to the CPD’s Public Transportation Section. Detectives request that anyone with knowledge about the suspects contact 312-745-4447 or submit an anonymous tip via CPDTIP.com, referencing the case number JJ429981.

The police frequently issue community alerts following robberies and other incidents on the transit system to generate leads from the public. Further details regarding stolen items or the victim’s condition have yet to be disclosed by the agency.

CWBChicago was founded in 2013 by five local residents from Wrigleyville and Boystown who were frustrated by the misinformation circulating at local Community Policing meetings.

Since its inception, our coverage has broadened to include Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other neighborhoods on the North Side. However, our commitment remains the same: to deliver original public safety reporting with enhanced context and detail that is often lacking in mainstream media.
