5:27 PM PT — A spokesperson for CoolKicks informed TMZ that “Yesterday, the LAPD confiscated a limited batch of Nike sneakers purchased by CoolKicks within the last 48 hours, claiming they were stolen. This came as a shock to our team. Neither the leadership of CoolKicks nor our employees suspected or had evidence suggesting that these products were illicit. We proceeded with this purchase in good faith, as we have done consistently, and are dedicated to operating an honest business grounded in integrity and trust.”

The statement further elaborated, “It must be stressed: law enforcement has made no claims regarding any products being counterfeit. CoolKicks prides itself on providing our loyal customers with genuine, high-quality products and services; this is central to our ethos. We wish to reassure our clientele that maintaining the integrity of our products is our top priority. We are optimistic that the truth will surface, and the trust we have diligently cultivated will endure. We sincerely regret any worry or inconvenience this situation may have caused. Our commitment to honest business practices will never waver.”

The proprietor of CoolKicks LA, a popular sneaker boutique, found himself in custody over a felony charge following an LAPD raid reportedly broadcasted live.

Authorities informed TMZ Sports that Adeel Shams, aged 33, was apprehended at approximately 4:45 PM on Thursday in Santa Monica, facing felony charges for “Receiving Known Stolen Property valued over $950.00.”

Shams is set to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on October 23. Additional details are currently unavailable.

The initial moments of the raid were reportedly captured on Shams’ stream on the Whatnot app—he was in the midst of auctioning items when he abruptly exclaimed, “What the f*** was that?”

Shams then speculated whether he was the subject of a “swatting” prank before terminating the stream.

An alleged image of the raid is making its rounds on social media.

CoolKicks is highly regarded as one of the premier sneaker resellers, competing with major players like GOAT, StockX, and Flight Club.

Its premises are also noted for attracting a multitude of celebrity guests, including Chris Brown, Travis Kelce, and IShowSpeed.

We reached out to representatives at CoolKicks for a statement, but have yet to receive a reply.
