In a recent statement, President Trump informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he had to acquiesce to a cease-fire proposal, as reported by Channel 12 from Israel on Saturday.
“Netanyahu was hesitant, but I emphasized that this was a chance for him to claim victory,” Trump told journalist Barak Ravid during their phone conversation. “He accepted it. With me, you need to be on board.”
Trump continued, “Bibi overstepped in Gaza, leading to a decrease in Israel’s global support. Now, I will work to restore that backing.”
The conversation between Trump and Netanyahu occurred the previous Friday, as per Channel 12’s report.
This report follows Hamas’ decision to accept key provisions of Trump’s plan, which includes the release of Israeli hostages and the cessation of hostilities in Gaza.
