In an appalling betrayal of the citizens of Chicago, Mayor Brandon Johnson has designated certain areas of the city as “ICE-free zones.” His feeble justification that upholding our immigration laws jeopardizes community trust reveals his real allegiance: to the illegal alien offenders, rather than to the frightened families of Chicago.

Shielding the most heinous and violent criminal illegal aliens from accountability is not just an affront to every resident of Chicago; it represents a dangerous escalation of the Democrats’ reckless “sanctuary” policy that prioritizes criminal aliens over American citizens.

This outrageous policy protects criminal illegal alien murderers, rapists, and gang members who target innocent Americans — such as these dangerous individuals ICE has recently apprehended in Chicago:

Stefan Cseve, an Austrian national with prior convictions for sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, numerous sexual predator offenses in public parks, loitering as a registered sex offender, and faces pending charges for murder and sexual abuse of a minor.

Refugio Ramirez-Larios, a Mexican national with multiple convictions for firearm offenses, crimes against individuals, obstructing justice in homicide cases, and drug-related charges.

Angel Galindo Viveros, a Mexican national found guilty of armed carjacking, armed robbery, driving without a license, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Yushell Alejandro Yin Del Toro, a Mexican national convicted of domestic violence, battery, resisting arrest, with multiple pending assault charges.

Blanca Cecillia Sanchez-Sanchez, a Venezuelan national and identified member of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang.

Antonio Rosales-Rodriguez, a Mexican national with a record of domestic violence, theft, DUIs, and criminal transmission of HIV.

Cristobal Carias Masin, a Salvadoran national guilty of statutory rape, fraud, and aggravated felony, with charges pending for assault and failure to register as a sex offender.

Jose Sanchez-Torres, a Mexican national previously convicted of exposing himself to a minor, domestic violence, and driving without a license, was ordered deported in 2004.
