A 36-year-old male was discovered deceased in his vehicle in Queens late on Sunday night after his parents reported that he had been kidnapped and was being extorted for a $10,000 ransom, according to police and insiders.

The body was found slumped over the steering wheel of his black Honda Civic at approximately 10:15 p.m., parked at the intersection of 123rd Street and 89th Avenue in Richmond Hill, as reported by authorities.

Emergency services declared him dead shortly after their arrival at the scene.

The victim was discovered slouched in the driver’s seat of his Honda Civic, which was located at 123rd Street and 89th Avenue in Richmond Hill, police confirmed. Robert Mecea

The discovery of the body occurred roughly two hours after the man’s parents approached the NYPD’s 106th Precinct in South Ozone Park, claiming they had received several phone calls alleging that their son had been abducted.

According to reports, the callers demanded a ransom of $10,000 for his release.

Authorities were able to trace his vehicle’s license plate, leading them to the location about a mile away from where the parents reported the kidnapping.

No visible signs of trauma were evident on the body, as per reports.

Police indicated that the city medical examiner’s office will determine the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death.
