In a statement, the family of Mark Sanchez has addressed the public for the first time since the stabbing incident that occurred Saturday morning. They noted that the former quarterback is still undergoing medical treatment and expressed gratitude towards fans for their support.

“This has been an extremely difficult time for all involved. Mark and our family are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support we’ve received during these past few days,” said Mark’s brother, Nick, in a statement to TMZ Sports.

“Mark is still receiving medical attention for the serious injuries he acquired and is concentrating on his recovery as the judicial processes unfold. We sincerely thank the first responders and the medical team for their exceptional care.”

Notably, Sanchez was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon while hospitalized in Indianapolis for treatment of stab wounds… authorities allege he was the aggressor in a confrontation with a 69-year-old truck driver just prior to the incident.

The former first-round NFL draft pick faces four charges, including felony battery, linked to his involvement in the situation, along with a lawsuit that was filed on Monday morning.
