“Monster: The Ed Gein Story” made its debut on Netflix with an impressive 12.2 million views within its first three days.

This figure is slightly below that of “Monsters” Season 2, subtitled “The Lyle and Erik Menendez” story, which garnered 12.3 million views in 2024. However, it is important to note that the “Menendez” figures were reported over a four-day opening weekend, while “Ed Gein” had only three days of visibility before the Netflix Top 10 release, suggesting it likely would have surpassed its predecessor given a fourth day.

The latest season of the crime anthology series by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan secured second place on the English-language TV chart for the period of September 29 to October 5. The only series to place higher was “Wayward,” starring Mae Martin, which achieved 14.1 million views after leading the chart the previous week. Following “Ed Gein” in third was “House of Guinness,” which amassed 6.4 million views in its second week.

Debuting at No. 4 was Season 9 of “Love Is Blind” with 3.7 million views, trailed closely by the third week of “Black Rabbit” at 3.3 million. Meanwhile, Season 2 of “Wednesday” continued its run, landing at No. 6 with 3 million views after nine weeks on the chart.

In seventh place, Season 1 of “Dark Winds” attracted 2.8 million views. Initially released on Netflix in August and having charted for two consecutive weeks, the show saw a rise in viewership following the arrival of Season 3 on October 1.

Concluding the chart, the edition of “Raw: 2025” from September 29 reported 2.3 million views, followed by “Doc” with 1.7 million views in its second week, and “Ms. Rachel” with 1.6 million views over its 25 weeks on the chart, albeit not consecutively.
