On Friday, NBC will present a special edition of “The Tonight Show”, highlighting an extended version of Jimmy Fallon‘s recent conversation with Taylor Swift.
Swift made an appearance on “The Tonight Show” on Monday to promote her upcoming 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” According to Variety, the Monday episode omitted some parts of the interview, which were later shared online. This Friday, NBC will include those segments instead of featuring Fallon’s chats with the other Monday guests.
One of the highlights will be Swift’s rationale for not performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2026, especially after Roc Nation confirmed Bad Bunny as the headliner.
“Jay-Z has been incredibly supportive of me — our teams are quite close,” she mentioned to Fallon regarding the Roc Nation founder. “They occasionally reach out and ask, ‘How does she feel about this?’ It’s not an official proposal or boardroom discussion, just a genuine inquiry into how she feels overall.”
“We always tell him honestly that I’m in a relationship with someone who plays that sport on the field itself,” she elaborated, referencing her fiancé Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. “I mean, professional football is intense; it’s like violent chess. It’s like gladiators but without swords. It’s dangerous. For the entire season, I am focused on what he’s doing on the field. Can you picture me while he’s out there every week risking his life in such a high-stakes, intense sport, thinking, ‘What should I do for my performance? Maybe we can sequence “Shake It Off” into “Blank Space” into “Cruel Summer”?’”
“The Tonight Show” is produced by Lorne Michaels, with Gerard Bradford and showrunner Chris Miller also on board as producers.
