An enthusiastic supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers has filed a lawsuit against LeBron James, claiming the basketball titan misled him with “The Second Decision,” leading to financial losses.

Andrew Garcia, a 29-year-old diehard Lakers enthusiast, lodged the complaint in Los Angeles County small claims court on Wednesday. He asserts that James owes him $865.66 after misleadingly implying he would announce his retirement.

In an interview, Garcia recounted how James hinted on Monday at a significant decision, leading him to believe The King was retiring. He hurried to Ticketmaster to purchase seats for what he believed would be LBJ’s final game against his previous team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Garcia bought two tickets for the March 31, 2026 game, paying $432.83 each. However, when LeBron revealed on Tuesday that his “big decision” was merely a promotion for Hennessy, the value of the tickets plummeted.

In his lawsuit, Garcia states that James owes him damages due to “fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, and all potential legal grounds for recovery.”

He remarked in an interview, “I wouldn’t have made the purchase if it weren’t for him retiring. It’s as simple as that.”

Garcia’s sentiments resonate with other fans who have expressed disappointment over James’s handling of the Hennessy advertisement, but as of now, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer has not publicly addressed the dissent.
