“As we celebrate the milestone of the 300th episode of On Patrol: Live, our host and executive producer, Dan Abrams, hints at “a few surprises for our audience” this weekend. “I might be taking a special field trip soon in honor of this occasion – stay tuned for updates on that,” he mentioned.
On Patrol: Live broadcasts every Friday and Saturday night from 9 p.m. to Midnight ET, showcasing more than 50 live cameras tracking police officers and sheriff’s departments responding to emergencies nationwide. In honor of reaching the 300th episode, the upcoming episodes will feature segments highlighting the show’s “most intense and memorable moments, encompassing everything from the shocking to the humorous.”
Abrams shared, “This series has evolved into something more than just a job for me. Sure, it’s enjoyable to work on, but I believe it plays an essential role in providing insight into the daily lives of police officers across America. No other program offers viewers such a genuine perspective on what a night on patrol truly entails.”
Abrams leads the series alongside a dedicated in-studio team, which includes Captain Tom Rizzo from Howell Township Police Department (N.J.), Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson from Richland County Sheriff’s Department (S.C.), and retired Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin from Tulsa Police Department (Okla.).
According to the production, the series has collaborated with 36 police departments and sheriff’s offices across the nation; it has aided in locating 46 missing persons featured in the show’s weekly “Missing” segments and has helped apprehend 82 fugitives through its “BOLO (Be on the Lookout)” segments.
Abrams emphasized the importance of their fan base, stating, “Our viewers, known as ‘OP Nation,’ are the cornerstone of our show, and their enthusiasm and backing have brought us to episode 300. Even more significantly, we’ve managed to rally our community to assist in finding numerous missing individuals and capturing over 80 fugitives, and I take immense pride in being a part of that effort.”
Currently, On Patrol: Live has partnerships with several law enforcement agencies, including Baton Rouge PD (La.), Christian County Sheriff’s Office (Mo.), Clayton County Sheriff’s Office (Ga.), Daytona Beach Police Department (Fla.), Knox County Sheriff’s Office (Tenn.), Lee County Sheriff’s Office (Fla.), Richland County Sheriff’s Department (S.C.), and Wheeling PD (W.V.).
Since On Patrol: Live premiered in July 2022, Reelz has experienced a significant increase in viewership; this year, the network renewed On Patrol: Live and its counterpart On Patrol: First Shift through early 2026.
Produced by Big Fish Entertainment, a subsidiary of Amazon, On Patrol: Live is the spiritual successor to Live PD, which Abrams and Big Fish created for A&E before its removal in the summer of 2020. A+E Networks initially sought legal action against On Patrol: Live, claiming it mirrored Live PD, but a settlement in November allowed the new show to flourish on Reelz, eventually reaching this impressive milestone of 300 episodes.
